How much of human life is lost in waiting?

Ralph Waldo Emerson

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.

Our Daily Challenge: waiting

the geek behind the curtain: all shots and layers in this assemblage were taken and developed by myself.

a shot of the moon and silhouette of tree and vine from this morning; a shot of a textured exterior wall from the weekend; a shot of a paintbucket from january. built the shadows with selection tools, black paint brush, and layer blending (grain extract, 40%), then gaussian blur around the edges (border: 15 pixels; blur set at "15").

took 5 shots of the moon, hand-held, and the vine was reasonably clear but in this one the moon was blurrier than the rest -- yet the tones were better (i.e., more interesting to my eye) than any other, most especially around the burning moon.

de-saturated the paint bucket and the lid, but pumped up the saturation of the paint inside the can. then selected the inside circle of the paint can and threw a lens flare into one corner to give the effect the paint was made of light.

a little less than an hour on this one.
