bridge of storms
Any good photograph is a successful synthesis of technique and art.
Our Daily Challenge: starts with H (hover, higher ground)
the geek behind the curtain: all shots and layers in this assemblage were taken and developed by myself.
3 shots, 3 layers. the bridge shot was taken today, hand-held, with the powershot, from my car, facing south. the underwater mural of dolphins and fish and sea turtles is really there. the sky was replaced with a shot taken half an hour later from the other side of the road, about 100 yards from this spot, facing northeast, also hand-held from the car. the crow was from a few days ago, added for a bit of embellishment.
the bridge shot, other than crop, is SOOC. the sky is mashed (or squashed) vertically to fit in the space provided, and some traffic cameras were cloned away. the crow is desaturated (it was against a bright blue sky, and desaturating it made it easier to blend into the grey clouds). i also did a bid of hand-tooled dodging on it, and it was so crisp and clear it seemed unnatural so i blurred 2-pixel border width around it by 2-percent with a gaussian blur.
