Wesson Gap Road Bridge

Located in Etowah county, AL, the Wesson Gap Road Bridge (built in 1918) was used by many drivers, including school bus drivers until weight restrictions prohibited heavy vehicles from crossing. After a girder broke in 2000, the bridge was closed, and a large mound of dirt was placed at each end of the bridge. With the passing of years, the road on the other side of the bridge is no longer visible from this viewpoint.
