Snow 2009
A rare snow fell on Athens, GA today, March 1, 2009. It started at around 1 pm when the rain changed to sleet changed to snow. It snowed for 6 hours straight, big, wet, fat snow, and it accumulated to about 6.5".

Then the temperature dropped into the 20s so we woke up on March 2 to blue skies and a frozen winter wonderland.

The last time we had this much snow was March 13, 1993 (The Blizzard of '93).
