Limburg really cleaned up its train station and surrounding area since I've last been there in 2006. Someone had the genius idea to convert the adjacent Bundesbahnausbesserungswerk (federal railroad improvement and repair facility) into a shopping center/small mall, and they did a great job. Much of the structure was preserved, giving this hall an industrial feel, and a few displays remind of the work that used to be done here.
This is a view onto the floor with ceiling reflection.
There is plenty of parking, too, and if you buy something inside at one of the many stores, the parking ticket can be validated and the first 90 minutes are free. My mom bought an 88 cent cabbage and had the ticket stamped. It was almost embarrassing, but we really did need that cabbage!
