Family Portrait - Montreal 1963
Family Joke is more like it! We would look at this and have a laugh remembering the various 'family stories' behind this photo, my very favourite family photo! I can't help but notice that this image has become popular!
This image now has 80,170 views as of 15 10 2016. Family Is important. Thanks, All.
Mother worked as an 'accounts receivables' clerk in one of the many garment trade companies in Montreal while also bringing up three kids and paying up the car and house payments. My sister Ursula Uschi) was often called upon by Mom to 'pitch in and help out', as well as my dear brother Ralf. I was 4 or 5 years old here.
Quite often Mom would come home with bargain knitwear- shirts, sweaters, pants, jeans and so on which she had purchased for us at work with her 'employee discount'! So these shirts must have been 'on sale' and Mighty Nice too - We All thought . . . in this Park Avenue photo studio family portrait taken in Montreal back in 1963!
Our boldly patterned shirts are each slightly different in color but they are also very similar looking- as you can see- when photographed in black in white! Ursula, my sister was cutting her own hair back then. Notice her hair's bangs on her forehead? Me? I'm beside my 'big sister' Uschi's wearing my knitted shirt. So is Ralf!
