Trooping the Colour also known as The Queen's Birthday Parade, is traditional display of pomp and pageantry originating from preparations of battle.
Colours, or flags, were carried or "trooped" down the rank so that it could be seen and recognised by the soldiers. The Colour paraded this year was that of Nijmegen Company Grenadier Guards.
More than 1,600 officers and soldiers took part along with 240 horses and 290 musicians who marched and played as one.
The Queen's actual birthday was on 21 April, when she turned 88.
