Chasin' the Train
From last evening at Middle River Railroad Bridge/Bullfrog Landing in the sweltering California Delta. I would have given my skate key for a can of bug repellent, but alas, there were none in my car. Today at the drugstore my daughter said, "Daddy, we don't need any, I put BOTH of your cans in the bathroom drawer..." [deep breath in. deep breath out...]
Anyhow, I met Jeff F at sunset and we decided to wait for the Amtrak train from Stockton. Apparently there is even an app for that, as he was able to estimate it's passing within about 5 minutes. I got a little too close and the airflow from the speeding train toppled my camera; I caught the center column with just enough time to re-aim and open the shutter. On the LED screen it looked too dark, but with some lightening, boom, the train appeared, lol. Sweet!
