A Different Perspective
I went for a great boat ride a couple days ago. I've missed being out in a boat. I've actually been a boater all my life, until I decided to live in a motorhome three years ago. I sold my boat, gave up boating, and became an RV'er. Dan invited me out on his boat, for a ride in Saguaro Lake. Dan is one of our warehouse managers, and also a member of our racing team (see photo I posted a month or so ago of an off-road race) He told me, the race team refers to him as 'Gas-man'. He claims it's because he is in charge of putting gas in the truck... But, I have my doubts. Anyway, we went for a ride around Saguaro Lake. It was awesome! I really enjoyed it. I didn't think being out in a boat would be such an amazing experience, since I've been out in a boat a thousand times. It was. It's funny. Being in a boat, and being in the southwest were completely separated in my mind. Being in a boat, I'm always looking out at water, beaches, dune grass, marshes, and big gaudy houses. In the southwest, we have canyons, and mountains. It was so cool combining the two. It felt so weird being out in a boat and looking out at mountains and Saguaro Cactus. Seemed like such a contradiction.
These photos were taken from the boat. In the background on this first shot is Four Peaks.
