Here's one from close to home, if I can actually call Mesa, Arizona, 'home'. I shot this one a couple of weeks ago. It's the Salt River, a little east of here. In the distance, on the left, is Four Peaks.
I've been working on the motorhome all week, trying to get ready to roll out of here. Ya know how annoying it is bringing your car in for repair, and not having a car for a few days. Imagine giving up your house for a few days. It's been an annoying week. So, today I did a major repair on my slideout. I have a slideout section on my motorhome. You press a button, and the living room wall slides out by three feet. Anyway, it has been misaligned and rubbing for months. One of the guys at the RV repair place was very generous with his knowledge. A little too generous. He said it would be about an $800 dollar repair. He told me, there is no adjustment on the slide. They just have to put some cables around the slide and bend it back into shape, then put in some shims. I thought, 'I can do that'. One of the nice things about living behind a warehouse is having access to lots of neat stuff. Today, with the help of Dan, one of our warehouse guys, we parked a forklift behind my slideout. These little forklifts weigh about 10,000 pounds! I wrapped some straps around the misaligned parts of my slideout, Dan pulled some levers on the forklift, BAM! It's perfectly straight again. I put in some shims, to keep it straight. It's fixed. So, I saved $800. Thanks RV guy.
