Bay Bridge, Holiday Lights
I've been off work since the 21st and while I've been doing quite a bit of shooting, I haven't had much time to process any of the new images. This is from my first day of vacation, when I headed up to the city with a coworker to attempt a sunset shoot at Rodeo Beach, followed by a trip to Treasure Island / Yerba Buena Island. Well, Rodeo is quickly becoming similar to Natural Bridges for me inasmuch as I've now been three different times and have yet to experience any real decent light. This time around, we had hoped to catch a break in the storms that had been pounding California for much of that week, and while we largely avoided the rain, the clouds never really parted.
Since I had a driver who didn't mind dropping me off, I decided I'd try out the now-standard composition south of the Bay Bridge with the skyline under the roadway. By the time I hiked down the hill to a good spot, it was starting to rain. I wasn't wearing hiking boots and didn't want to go back up in the mud in my work shoes, but I managed to quickly come away with one image I'm relatively happy with. I know I'm not breaking new ground here, but it's good to at least get a first cut at this location. Definitely need to get back.
