Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) lunge feeding

Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) lunge feeding, as seen from Ole Harford Port San Luis Pier in Port San Luis, (Avila) CA. Several Humpback Whales were lunge feeding amongst a bird and sea lion feeding frenzy in the bay fairly near shore and piers, and amongst dozens of kayakers and Standup Paddle (SUP) boarders within striking distance. 23 August 2012.
