Hawaiian Chieftain Sailing Ship tall-ships-2-22-07_4

The Hawaiian Chieftain (light blue band), and the Lady Washington shown here (dark blue band) majestically ‘round Morro Rock, Morro Bay, CA, Feb 22, 2007... trimming their sails to navigate the jetty and lay-too in our breathtaking harbor. The Lady Washington is a prefect replica of a 90-ton merchant Brig, circa 1860, and the Hawaiian Chieftain is faithful full scale, fully operational reproduction of the original 1870’s 64 ton trading vessel. They arrived on February 22, 2007 and will stay through the 26th. Photo by Mike Baird, - Shot w/ a Canon 20D w/ 100-400 mm f/4.5-5.6 IS lens handheld. 22feb2007 tall ships
