Black Phoebe (Sayornis nigricans), bird in the Morro Creek outflow

    Newer Older

Black Phoebe (Sayornis nigricans), bird in the Morro Creek outflow to Morro Strand State Beach, Morro Bay, CA., 17 Dec. 2008. Photo by Michael "Mike" L. Baird Canon 1D Mark III w/ 300mm f/2.8 IS lens with 1.4X II tele-extension, circular polarizer, handheld.
I was, by mistake, on Aperture Priority here at f/13, giving me a longer than desired 1/40th handheld shot - several others I took during the same burst were blurrier.

Thanks to Jerry Kirkhart and Linda Tanner
for the identification correction to Black Phoebe (Sayornis nigricans) !

Lovely shot Mike. This little guy just has a quality about em y'know? I always shoot on Ap priority at F8 but only because I have a lens that is useless at anything else, unlike your premo piece!

Perfect clarity and details and nice texture on the bark...are you sure you don't have a Black Phoebe here instead of a Says?
