After the study at the Viennese college of arts and crafts and at the Prager academy he resided since 1908 in Itzehoe/Holstein. Beside free painting it created designs and graphics cycles for the topic of a crystalline architecture. These work, which reflected utopian literature among other things from Paul Scheerbart, was the earliest figurative representations of their kind in 20.
