Disneyland Tiki Room Shirt and Dress Replicas

    Newer Older

No, these are not for sale, so don't ask. ;-) This is a screen grab of the Disney Online page from 2005. My friend Michelle "Humuhumu" Whiting and I were the models and we had clips all the way down our backs.

If you want the whole saga of these replicas from the 1960s, visit Michelle's wonderful blog and she'll fill you in....

Incidentally, I own two of these shirts....and I still don't understand what "Tiki time" is... Hmmm.

any chance there will ever be another run of these?

Adamn, Ha, thanks! Just call me Major Nelson.

Johhny, Not that I'm aware of, but who knows. Disney moves in mysterious ways, and I don't work there anymore. :-)
However, if I were ever in the position to create another run, it would be fun to do a new color scheme on the old pattern. The green and purple versions were authentic to the original fabric in the 60s, but I'd love to do a blue style- or a red-orange. Even boring old tapa-cloth browns might look incredible.
