Mary Poppins Umbrella

    MARY POPPINS ANIMATED UMBRELLA
Designed by Kevin Kidney & Jody Daily

Hand-carved wooden Parrot Handle with glass eyes, on Fabric and Metal Umbrella.
Released in Fall 2006. Limited Edition. © Disney

Not an exact replica, per se, but awfully close. This is the third model of Mary Poppins' magical umbrella that we produced, and this is my favorite. Not cast from the original movie prop as our previous umbrella replicas were, but carved by hand from wood and painted in tinted stains, this parrot has the exciting feature of an animated lower jaw. By pressing down on the spring-loaded lever in the handle, the precocious parrot becomes an expialidocious puppet!
And of course, the umbrella portion will keep you dry as you walk rainy London avenues on your way to Uncle Albert's.

I truely loved this umbrella. The moment i obtained it i almost cried. I loved the detail you guys put into each umbrella, so i bought two, one to look at occasionally and one to cherish and keep it in the box forever of course, sometimes i open it to check. I loved your other replicas too, loved the paint on these most especially, the 1996 london landscape umbrella, is by far my favoirtie. Iam still trying to get one, but they are now upwards of a thousand dollars, considering i do believe, they were limited to 350! The 2004 version was pretty good, but somewhat plain. The broadway version (which i know you guys didn't do) was very good, even though it was a different version to what you guys made. Iam trying to obtain a second broadway umbrella. Oh and btw the beak is very sticky on the second umbrella and the tasel fell apart on my umbrella on the first day. I would love to see another edition of your replicas, but next time, make sure it is plastic articulated beak and closer matches the design.
