Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
Simon Corble's verse-play with medieval music. The heavily revised version received its first indoor performance at The O'Reilly Theatre, Keble College, Oxford 12th to 15th February 2014.
The original production, for open-air promenade performance, toured from June to September 1992 to some of the most rugged venues imaginable - some pictured here. Adapted from the anonymous 14th Century poem, written in a dialect of the North West of England, the play calls for eight or nine talented actor-musicians. It is written entirely in alliterative verse - the same form as that of the poem.
