I was just wondering if this is regular street graffiti or if the person who wrote this message to tourists is known... awesome shot though, striking message.

Great shot, awesome commentary. I went down in 2006 to help rebuild, we would see tourists driving through the 9th in these vans just looking, pointing, taking pictures as we were gutting houses. Shame on them indeed. Again, nice shot.

I am a 'tourist' who goes to nola 2 -3 times a year... I put my money into the economy including stopping by Common Ground, habitat and other charities to give money, my work and my time.

Tourist dollars are needed to keep the restaurants and business afloat and to in turn create jobs but it would be nice to have create tours in which one helps in the effort to rebuild whilst witnessing the damage of katrina.

I COMPLETELY disagree that tourists shouldn't be seeing the 9th ward/ St. Bernard Parish, etc.

No media can convey the destruction as a simple drive through the neighborhood can. Almost everyone who sees it goes home wanting to help.

I understand that the guy doesn't want to be pitied but helped. But the tourism is helping New Orleans more than anything else (especially since the government isn't).

I think that viewing should be mandatory for anyone who visits New Orleans as a tourist and for all Presidential candidates and appointees.
