café in the 3e

It's a cute façade right? Apparently quite a few other people think so too, and this little café gets photographed a fair bit (it's on the way to the Picasso museum from the nearest metro). Anyway, the owner got really stroppy at me and said photographs were not permitted. I was on the other side of the road at the time...I tried to have a reasonable discussion with him and said if so many people found his café façade so photogenic, it must be because it looked great. Anyway, he just went on and ranted about pointless things and was quite ridiculous, saying it disturbed the clientele (a, it's empty - and oh, I wonder WHY?, and b, it's Paris, possibly the most photographed city in the world - get used to it). As a consequence, I didn't stop here for a café, and I never will. And I won't bring any of my friends here either. Whether you decide to stop here for a drink or not is up to you...

Café owners in Paris can be kind of temperamental sometimes, don't let them discourage you.
It's not an anti-French statement : I am French and living in Paris...
Great shot, anyway. I've seen that café before in the Marais, the sign on the left is genuine.

yeah, the sign really caught my eye. I know café owners (and dyed in the wool parisiens) can be quite difficult, but this guy was being really silly! :)
