Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake

Crotalus adamanteus

One of two large males found on the move in the late afternoon at a new location in south Florida. Late August and early September bring a peak in rattlesnake activity as males start to actively search for mates. It's not uncommon to find large individuals on really hot, muggy afternoons.
