Today's @dailyshoot [combine color and water] #ds293
Can't remember the last time I posted a dailyshoot image. I've done some of the assignments but haven't posted them.
My daughter and I fooled around with spraying water on a blank CD in the sunshine. I've wanted to try this ever since I saw Pete Talke's CD/water shot on places2explore.wordpress.com (I don't have the exact link handy...just go read all his posts :-) ).
Considered using HDR to make an image without any areas blown out, so I bracketed my shots from -4 to +2. However, in the end I chose this single exposure and decided to live with the highlights. The tonemapped image was going to take more work than I was willing to put into it today...maybe another time.
In Photoshop I did a bit of noise reduction and selectively adjusted the exposure in certain areas. With curves and levels I was able to really bring out an awesome green color in the CD (you can see the green somewhat here) but it washed out the individual drops of water so I deleted those layers.
