Teen Idol Slips into Town

Terry Rotell, the lead singer of the rock and roll group: The Hotpoints, literally slipped into Elgin Park when his 1960 Thunderbird hit an icy patch out on the access road near the waterworks.

Gus Chalmers happened to drive by shortly after the accident occurred and pulled the singer's car out of the ditch.

Gus was not impressed with Rotell's attitude, his flashy clothes nor his greasy hairstyle, but the car was something of a marvel.

"That was some fine piece of machinery." noted Gus.

"I was hoping the kid would let me have a drive, but the punk just said thanks and drove off."

Asked if he knew who The Hotpoints were, Gus replied; "Hell no and I don't give a damn."

We can safely assume Gus did not attend the sold out concert scheduled that night.

The Thunderbird is a Danbury Mint diecast and words fail me. It even has a sliding sun roof, the first one ever to be produced on an American automobile.
