Palouse Falls in Washington by Michael Matti
A nice little detour when driving between Spokane and Seattle is to head down to Palouse Falls State Park. This waterfall could not have seemed more out of place and was quite secluded. We even drove on some dirt roads through the extremely dry desert to get there. You would not expect this massive waterfall and canyon to suddenly appear as you're driving along, but it does. To put it into perspective there are a few fisherman in the water where the small pond turns into the river that are hardly visible. The journey to Palouse Falls may seem like you're driving out into the middle of nowhere, which you are, but it is well worth the stop.
