Bison in the River in Yellowstone by Michael Matti
I got up early one morning while in Yellowstone in hopes of catching a nice sunrise. The sunrise didn't end up being all that great but I still made the early morning worthwhile by shooting some bison. There are lots of bison throughout the park so finding a pull-off with bison nearby wasn't too hard. At this particular spot that I had pulled off at there were a group of bison really close by. As I took some photos of the bison, I noticed that one of the bison was across the river and the rest of the group was slowly making their way toward the river. I decided to wait around to see if the others would cross too, which they did, but only one at a time which was interesting. I crouched on the bank about 15 yards upstream during this crossing which is where I took this shot.
