A Kiss - Viera Wetlands

Well, probably more like a gift. The female (right) was perched alone while I was photographing her. Suddenly the male appeared (suddenly to me, she probably saw him coming), and most likely presented her with a gift of a morsel of food. The hawks are paired up right now, and the male will bring food to the female to show that he is capable of providing for the family.

I would have liked a different angle for this, but you take what nature gives you. I feel lucky just to have stuck around watching the female long enough to see the male return. I also wish it hadn't been an overcast day, but maybe the stark background adds a little pop to the subjects.
