Country_Continent_GDP_Population-Radial Convergence

Had a crack at some data visualisation. Grabbed some data off Wikipedia; countries vs. continents vs. GDP vs. population.

It doesn't actually work as far as analysis goes, but it looks cool.

I was going to slag this graphic until i read your comment.

Yeah, it's a just a pretty face, but it is a really pretty face.

Question: what's the perfect application for this kind graphic? Trade patterns? Immigration patterns? Please, God, not another representation of social-networking sites.

      hiya michael,
interesting graphic. Did you use photoshop or something similar to create it?

Hello all - thanks for the comments and views.

I did this manually in illustrator. It was an exercise to learn some of the features I never really bothered with, but now use all the time. At the time I think I was influenced by a couple of visualisation sites so jumped into this without thinking about it properly.

I should try get involved in Processing at some point and create something that's actually interesting as well as looks nice. If anyone has any good tutorials on that let me know please.
