26.11.09 Berlin Germany. Paper cut-out model of the "Palast der Republik" (Palace of the Republic meaning the German Democratic Republic or DDR) Aka "Eric's Lamp Shop" named after the Chairman of the Council of State, Erich Honecker, the man who organised the building of the Berlin Wall. The building (a symbol of the Socialist State) was demolished in 2009 to make room for a reconstruction of the Berliner Schloss (Berlin Castle) which stood on this site before the communists demolished it after the second world war.
