Granite Marker

Another image from the summit of the Ballon D'alsace in Eastern France.

These granite stones can be seen in my last post, they surround a circular wall on the summit that displays various well known locations around France, although on this particularly misty day on the mountain you couldn't see anything further than 20 metres.

You can actually see in the stones the impact that the strong winds and ice make on the granite, hard to believe the force of the wind and ice on something this hard.
