Old triac-based controller (closeup)

This is how far I got on the triac-based speed controller before putting it aside and switching to the 12V DC motor.

This uses parts from the original foot pedal (RC snubber), a wall wart (5V switching supply), and an X10 LM465 lamp module (+15V non-isolated supply, triac and driver, zero-crossing detector).

The fence between the high voltage and low-voltage sides is partially for safety, and partially for EMI shielding.
