Here is kind of a more gloomy landscape shot from La Digue. Taken before Sunrise this shows some of the characteristic rock features you find all around the Seychelles. Some of the rocks are very red which comes out very good in this picture I think.


I used a hoya HD Polarizer to reduce reflection on the rocks and a Lee 0.6 soft and hard GND to balance the sky against the foreground. I also did an additional exposure to get more detail in the shadows and reduce the noise there.


All in all I'm quite happy with this photo. We got up 5 in the morning walked the short distance to this viewpoint, I setup the camera in the dark, doing some test shots with high ISO to see what I had in front of the lense. then some waiting for the right sky and that's it - back to bed :-)
