If the sounds of Bali are that of a gamelan orchestra off in the distance, then Gili Trawangan, and likely other towns in Lombok, is marked by the plaintive, almost wailing singing of the call to prayer at the nearby mosque. One morning, intrigued, I followed the sounds to find a group of kids gently joshing about as they headed to school. This one immediately caught my attention and I was glad to have my camera with. The pureness of his smile goes straight to my heart; it's one of my favorite photos from my trip.
