I was sitting upstairs, working on today's shots and saw the sunset reflected off the clouds from my window. I got up, took a look, and said something to the effect of "holy crap!" I put the SD card back into my Canon G11, ran down to the garage and unclogged the storm drain there, as there was a few inches of water around my Escape, and then drove over to the closest place with a decent view of the sunset this time of the year -- Gallup Park. I always keep a tripod in the car, so I grabbed that and ran to the small bridge overlooking the Huron River. Set the camera to manual, and got a series of fairly dramatic and colorful shots...like this one. The lightning was pretty cool, too, but I decided to not stay around out there for THAT show.
