Model for Los Angeles County's new light rail cars, November 30, 1988
Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, SCRTD Board President Gordana Swanson and officials from the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission unwrap an early Christmas present -- a new model of Los Angeles County's new light rail transit car as Santa Claus steps out of it. The event took place at the corner of 8th and Flower Streets near the construction site of the 7th / Metro MetroRail station, November 30, 1988. (The cars will be used on the future Metro Blue Line, while that station also serves Metro's Red Line, a heavy rail subway line).
