Mississippi Kite (Ictinia mississippiensis)
Yesterday was a beautiful day for photography in the morning. Here an adult male Mississippi Kite was kind enough to fly in to the arboretum and land on this wonderfully contrasting pine tree. I was able to shoot a number of photos, using the car as a blind and the beanbag to stabilize the 600mm lens. Love the morning light with no clouds in the background. Can not say the same for the next shot, taken today, with clouds moving in behind.
