R.I.P. Paul Newman---Great Actor and Greater Humanitarian

    Newer Older

I turned on my PC this morning and read that Paul Newman had passed on late yesterday. Not many people I truly admired in show biz, but he was the one and I guess it was because he was so anti show biz. As I said in my title, a Great Actor and Greater Human being. In his life he gave 175 Million to charity. His was a life well lived.
So, I decided to take a break from the Red Rock Canyon series, grabbed a bottle of his Chard from the wine rack and took it up on the terrace and shot my personal tribute..............
BTW, this looks good in Large too.........Happy weekend to all.........

Jan of Two Sisters, rcano1979, and 2 other people added this photo to their favorites.

I think any celebrity that lends their fame to benefit charities is worthy of our love. Thank you, Paul.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called GRRREAT WORKS........FRONT PAGE WINNERS DECLARED!!!!, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

It was very sad that he passed away. He was a fantastic actor in so many great movies especially "The Sting" and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." He was very generous in his personal life. THis is a great tribute photo!!

      Beautiful Tribute- THANKS

As you know, Paul Newman love race cars -

My Dad had an old - 1909 Brush Runabout and often took it to events. In one event Paul rode with him around the track. I've got the car - and will always have a special place in my heart for Paul Newman.

Yep, saw the news just before I went to bed. One of those people who made the world a better place by being in it, and their passing leaves a gap that not many could fill.

I met Paul Newman while campaigning for Kerry-Edwards in Columbus Ohio. Given that he began his political activism in the civil rights movement, I have to believe that his mission for 2008 is the same as my mission for 2008: to end a war by electing Barack Obama, president of the United States.
To find a local Obama HQ near you, go to
my.barackobama.com/page/content/statepages ; pick your state and then, on the right-hand side of the page, click on your state.
See you on the campaign trail.
