Water trough, Berghofer Pass
The main trough was for horses, the smaller one for dogs, travellers also used it. Cut from the sandstone in 1909 and constantly refilled by natural seepage, it is now a curious reminder of the past scarcity of pure water. Although the Pass is now a ghost road, the trough is still used by birds and native animals, and a passing photographer who found the water cool, clear and refreshing.
