Yarn Cat Embroidery
I have a thing for yarn that's almost as strong as my love of cats- how could I resist this design from Urban Threads? The only downside was that the original design had knitting needles sticking out of the yarn, but I changed that pretty easily into a crochet hook. (I don't knit, but I love to crochet!) I picked a black cat with green eyes for the color because my furbaby has those colors (and she likes yarn almost as much as I do, lol).
This is hand embroidered. The frame is handpainted and varnished and it's nicely closed on the back like how I did this embroidery frame. They look nicer when they're neatly finished like that. :)
I wanted to hide the metal knob at the top of the frame, so I covered it in a ribbon. I think this is a 7" hoop.
The only thing I don't like is that you can see some of the embroidery thread knots through the fabric. I'll have to be more careful with that next time! (I didn't realize the fabric was so see-through until too late). Hopefully that won't be noticeable once this is up on my wall.
