The 350cc Royal Enfiled Bullet motorcycle was selected by the Indian government after independence in 1947 for patrolling the nations borders.
The brand name was derived from the motto "Made like a gun".
In 1955, Enfield India was established to assemble the bikes with British components but by the early 1960s everything was made and assembled in India.
Enfield India purchased the brand rights in 1995 and the Bullet continues to be made there.
This Bullet, crafted by Subodh Gupta is cast in brass with a cargo of beaten milk cans lashed to the pannier frame.
