Stamco Sayuri Shirt Art (Fall/Winter 1999)

This is probably one of my favorite pieces of art from my Stamco shirt line. It represents the reason why my friend and I did a line: we wanted the freedom to create any piece of artwork.

I was influenced by Japanese art, Alphonse Mucha, and the vibrant colors of religious art from India.

The original was printed on a white juniors shirt.

Stamco was a line I did with my friend and business partner Tam Dang from 1998-2003. We got into stores like Fred Segal and our designs appeared on TV shows and commercials.

The artwork is entirely in Adobe Illustrator with the planning and sketching done on paper.
