Mini slice of a mini Devil's Food Cake

I decided to make tiny cakes...I think the thought came to me when I was trying to fall asleep one day last week. Anyway...

 

This tiny cake is sitting on a bread plate...if that helps you to visualize how small it is.

 

These are made from a slight adaptation of the Devil's Food Cake recipe in Baking Illustrated...I added more chocolate, lots of espresso powder and some Godiva and Starbucks Coffee liqueurs to the mix.

 

Then I made a mocha buttercream frosting.

 

From there, I spent a lot of time slicing and icing itty bitty cake layers. But they're so precious that it was worth the time.
