Traditional Greek Cow...

A rather amusing cow in "evzones" (national guard) military dress. Dig the "pom-pom" shoes? ;) The background buildings are in the nicely restored Kotzia Square (City Hall).

so they have this sort of cows spread out around the city? Toronto's symbol is a Moose, and they are all around downtown, all painted in different colors and so forth

I remember when the moose became a symbol in Toronto. At the time some critics were saying that T.O. was attempting to mimic the Chicago Cow Parade (i.e. another attempt at being self-consciously "world class"). But it turns out the cow/moose/horse parade has caught-on world-wide. It is a fun way to allow local artists to be creative, and the proceeds from the sale of many of the painted items usually go to charity.

Last year in Belgium they had a 175-strong horse parade to commemorate the 175th anniversay of the Belgian state, here is a pic: [www.flickr.com/photos/melanieandjohn/185633947/in/set-721...]
