The White Queen
A stunning white lioness and doesn't she just know she's beautiful? My friend from uni, Natalie is visiting at the moment and today we went to the West Midlands Safari Park in Bewdley. What a lovely day out :) It is the first time I've been there for years and years. It was fantastic to be back though - and to have such fantastic blue skies to enjoy as well. I love safari parks, so nice to see the animals in such huge enclosures. They all seem to look so contented with life - none of the pacing and stressed behaviour you still sometimes see in zoo animals - especially amongst the big cats.
The 2 lion prides at this safari park seemed extremely satisfied with life in general - and the good weather in particular! The tawny lions (at least the younger members!) were playing for ages - sprinting around and springing about like over-sized house cats! The white lions were a little calmer; this queen looked ever so content with herself, posing very kindly for us on a tree stump and soaking up the sunshine. The king of the white lion pride was too busy being lazy - sprawled out having a cat-nap in the distance - to come pose with his queen for a photo, I didn't mind though, she was spectacular by herself!
Hope you're had a lovely weekend, thanks for all the birthday wishes a few days ago!
