For FGR - My Pet Peeves. (One of many that I have!)

One of my biggest pet peeves is promptness. If there's one thing that will send me into a blind rage is either being late for something, or having to wait on someone, who is late.

Thanks to some key people in my past (one for always being late, and the other who drilled on being prompt, the Lombardi Method - always be 10 minutes early), this has turned into a complex/pet peeve of mine.

I'm sure the waiting on someone else is more for my impatience, but as for myself, I'm always at least 10 minutes early for any appointment.

*Thanks to Carol for letting me borrow his watch!*

I always show up early for meet-ups, as much as an hour, but lateness is also something I can't stand.

This really bothers me too. My fiance is rubbish at time keeping, and I find it so rude.

      - Just as I with yours. :)
      - Agreed. It's gotten to the point that when I am running late (like 5 minutes until I have to be there, lol) people get worried.
      - Yeah, my husband said "I know that look all too well. lol" There are some days to which he's like a woman when he's getting ready to go.
      - No excuses! ;)

Yup, I'm totally with you on this one. Unfortunately, my dear and wonderful wife has absolutely no problem being late to things (in fact, I'd say we're late to things about 90% of the time), which has forced me to try and be more calm about being late to things.

Reading the comments makes me wonder if the world is divided between the 'time is relative not constraining' people (chilled or annoyingly disrespectful, depending on your view) and the early birds (thoughtful or annoyingly neurotic, as before).

      Me? I kill late people.

I'm such a mixed bag here. showing up to work 'late' I'm ok with. showing up to a client meeting - no way Jose. My husband - wants to be at work at 7:40... since we commute together I'm always annoyingly early to work.. I have to sit in the hall to wait for someone to show and open the door for me.. bleh.

However - parties. He would happily be there an hour late, whereas me - I want to be there the minute it's supposed to start so I can make sure I don't miss anything.

However if I'm meeting someone - even a friend I like to be there before the appointed time. I hate making people wait.
