Yaaayyy! | by Mean and Pinchy

2012's first visitor to Mean and Pinchy's Backyard Bug and Bird Bistro, otherwise known as my back yard. Technically, this guy doesn't really qualify, since this is an assassin bug nymph in the genus Zelus (probably Zelus luridus), which overwinters as a nymph and means he hatched in 2011, but still, he's the first one I've found other than the Cabbage White and Orange Sulphur butterflies that won't stay still (and I don't yet have enough flowers in bloom to encourage them to stay still), so he counts as the first. Besides, he's an adorable baby bug, and an assassin, which are some of my favourite insects. Anyway, welcome, little green dude!
