The Sierra Challenge is an endurance event consisting of a series of ten consecutive dayhikes to some challenging peaks in the Sierra Nevada. This year was the 8th time I participated and it was by far the hardest Challenge since it premiered in 2001. Because of family obligations I was only able to hike with the group for four days. However, to get the whole experience I decided to hike the remaining six peaks in six days before the official start. Over these 10 days I reached my goal to successfully summit all of this year's 10 challenge peaks together with 1 bonus challenge peak because I was able to combine Deerhorn Mtn and Caltech Pk in one long day. The total hiking distance was ~200 miles with ~71,000 ft elevation gain.
