My adorable little cat often spends time staring out the front window, every now and then she spots something which is when she usually does that funny little head jerk and intently focuses on her prey, which usually only ends up being a kid playing outside or a falling leaf.
I took this shot the other night during that period of soft light right after the sun sets. Usually in such dim lighting conditions I wouldn't even try to take a shot, but lately I've been trying to learn to love the grainy noisy look you get from using high ISO's. I shot wide open with my 85mm f/1.4D with an ISO of 1000. I was able to pull out more detail in post by bumping the contrast in the low end of the curve.
