These are the stems from the center of a Clematis flower, I really liked the way they flowed out from the center and curled at the end. So picked one and trimmed the petals so that I could concentrate on just the stems themselves. I used my trusty Opteka 10X Macro lens on my Nikon 35mm f/1.8G to get in real close and to help add some extra light I used my Nikon SB-700 flash off-camera with an improvised toilet roll snoot to keep the light on just the flower. I originally shot this in B&W but I after doing my normal edits I decided that a little bit of toning was in order.
