A coworker of mine sent me a NY Times article on "micheladas", a kind of beer cocktail popular in Mexico. I asked my friend Joy, who lived in Mexico City for three years, if she drank them and she told me that she did many times. I went over to her house and she showed me how to make them. The red stuff around the rim is an approximation of chamoy syrup, and is actually a chamoy paste candy that she melted. It added a delicious tangy element to the drink.
