St Patrick's Cemetery
Rockaway, NJ, the burial ground served St Patrick's Catholic Church of Hibernia (which burned down July 27, 1910). Here lie many of the Irish and AustroHungarian miners of the Hibernia mines--and their families. In 1975 it was estimated only 22 gravestones were still legible. Upkeep is done by the Historical Society and Boy Scouts of Rockaway. The cemetery is at 800ft, up an unimproved trail, in the New Jersey Wildcat Ridge Wildlife Management Area.
